Mission Statement
Under the leadership of the Indy Public Safety Foundation, ICCR is part of the public-private collaborative efforts to reduce violence in our city by developing, implementing, and evaluating community-based interventions related to conflict resolution and quality-of-life issues.
Description
Indy Center for Conflict Resolution prevents conflict by using coaching techniques, mediation and other methods to help people communicate. We recruit volunteers from neighborhoods where conflict is especially present and empower them with skills to resolve it. We actively seek to work with people who have lived experience using trauma-informed care principles and culturally appropriate methods. ICCR differs from traditional mediation in that services are voluntary, allowing those in conflict to work together to solve problems. Our vision is to impact overall violence reduction and interrupt conflict before it escalates to violence.
