Recruiting Organization: The LIFE School

Mission Statement: The LIFE School is a project-based K-12 school in Atlanta that is redesigning the traditional learning experience to be more real-world, personalized and exploration-focused. We serve students who have a passion for success and we are committed to developing student leaders and entrepreneurs.

Position Overview: The LIFE School is seeking eclectic and dynamic individuals who are passionate about education innovation, excited to develop student leaders and entrepreneurs, and willing to bring their unique skills and network to help us grow the reach and capacity of our incredible school. As a Board Trustee, you will play a crucial role in guiding the direction of our school and shaping the future of education in Atlanta.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend monthly board meetings virtually and participate in important related meetings
• Participate regularly in the life of our school by tutoring, leading workshops, hosting field trips, and attending school events
• Participate in fundraising for the organization by giving personally and recruiting donors (individuals, grants, corporations, foundations) to give substantially
• Serve a two-year term with the possibility of up to five consecutive terms
• Bring your unique skills and network to help us grow the reach and capacity of our school

Qualifications:

• Passionate about education innovation and the mission of The LIFE School
• Experience serving on a board or committee, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Willingness to make a significant annual financial contribution to support the mission
