Volunteers will help with event set up and break down. Will also be assigned to work registration table or activity/concession stations during the event. Task will include set up (8am - 11am) and break down (3pm - 5pm) of tables, chairs and tents for the different activity stations and resource fair. During the event (11am - 3pm), volunteers will be tasked with serving refreshments from the concession stands (popcorn, cotton candy, snow-cones), face painting, registering/collecting information from attendees, engaging participants and helping with activities (arts & craft, STEM projects, Word Wall, field games, story times).
The Annual Daddy & Me Family Fun Day is an opportunity for families to come together for a day full of community, fun and enrichment. This event will provide an opportunity to 1) raise awareness about the literacy program 2) provide literacy and family resources to community members and 3) create safe and inclusive space for family to have fun, practice essential literacy and enrichment activities. Family day will have a range of enrichment activities and games throughout the day tailored for the whole family. Event will also include a resource fair, performance by local artist, soccer competition, food trucks and much more.

Mission Statement
Daddy & Me Literacy Program seeks to instill the love of reading in our young ones, and to encourage fellowship amongst men and dads of color. Target ages 3-7, but all are welcomed.
Description
Daddy & Me Literacy Program, founded in 2018 by Marzuq Muhammad, implements a monthly book club for dads of color, which provides a space for fathers to instill the love of reading in their little ones while also encouraging fellowship among men of color. Each participant is provided a book for the session to support building the family's home library with books and authors intentionally representative of black and brown children. At Daddy & Me, we target dads of color but all of of our outreach indicates that "all are welcome". Our attitude is one that it takes a village and so we are inclusive of all people no matter race, gender, economic background, sexual orientation, and political perspective. The organization also host Pop Up Story-time sessions in the community. In 2022, it launched an annual Family Fun Day. The Daddy & Me Family Fun Day is an opportunity for families to come together for a day full of community, fun and enrichment. It provides an opportunity to 1) raise awareness about the literacy program 2) provide literacy and resources to the community and 3) create safe and inclusive space for families to have fun, participate in essential literacy and enrichment activities.
