ORGANIZATION: After-School Opportunity Lab

The volunteer Program Director will be the initial person managing and helping craft how our program will operate. Under the direction of the COO, the Program Director will be responsible for maintaining the coordination, implementation, and administration of all enrichment/academic for A-SOL's after-school program.

The specific duties of the Program Director include program development and management, overseeing management and training of program staff, and participating in offsite collaborations. The Program Director will provide a safe, nurturing, and well-supervised after-school program, and be the liaison with parents, collaborators, school management, volunteers, and visitors to display the site and program positively.

This volunteer opportunity has the potential to grow into a part-time, and eventually full-time, paid staff position for the right candidate.

The mission of A-SOL is to provide a nonprofit after-school program that will be an introduction and education to a variety of vocations and entrepreneurial ideas while developing business management skills.

Description

A-SOL’s primary program will be an after-school program that serves grades 5-12 every Monday through Friday during the school year. Students will be divided into teams based on their grade level.

  • Orientation or Training
  • We would hope for 10 hours a week for the first 3 months. After the start of the pilot program, we would require an increase in time commitment, which can be discussed.
  • Reliable transportation to attend various meetings and be at the program site. A background in education and administration is preferred.
