Greetings!
Meals on Wheels Orange County is looking for dedicated volunteers who can visit or call clients that are homebound and isolated from society. The Friendly Visitor or Caller program was created to combat loneliness among the elder community. If you are interested, here is more information about the program:

Friendly Visitor/Callers Program. In this role, you will be visiting and/or calling homebound seniors receiving Meals on Wheels, aged 60 or older who are physically separated from others and/or confined to their homes. All seniors have an assigned Case Manager.

• You will be given a new list of seniors to call and/or visit.
• We ask that you commit to calling/visiting each client at least on 3-4 separate occasions.
• The goal is to help combat loneliness to seniors who are homebound.
• We ask for a 6-month minimum commitment for about 4 hours a month.

Day and hours of call/visits depend on the availability between the client and volunteer. Note: This position requires a background check that has a small fee of $20 depending on which state(s) you lived in.
