Calling all creative sewers!
Are you interested in using your sewing talents and creativity to alleviate anxiety and stress for hospitalized patients? This might be the right role for you!
Designed for patients who suffer from anxiety, memory loss, Alzheimer's Disease, and ADHD, "Fidget Blankets" or "Activity Blankets" are a small (18"x18") blanket with different items and textures attached to keep restless fingers busy. The blankets provide a positive outlet or distraction to release nervous tension and anxiety to alleviate our patients and their caregivers.
We use these blankets regularly at the hospital and each blanket goes home with the recipient patient, thus, we need lots of help with this special and meaningful patient need. Blankets can be made from the comfort of your own home. Or, have a blanket-making party with a group of sewers.
