Mission Statement: A soulful retreat back to nature and simplicity, to heal the mind, body and spirit. Vision Statement: Henry’s Home is an all-volunteer 501c3 that provides donors, volunteers, and advocates the organization they require to support our communities rescued and surrendered horses, and other farm animals, as well as our veterans, first responders and their families. Our long-term plan is to expand into a self-sustaining therapeutic retreat center for veterans and their families, first responders and their families, and others in our community who need a safe and loving place in which to heal their souls. A center where all the rescued and donated four-footed members of the Henry’s Home family play an intricate role in the healing and happiness of those who spend time with them.

Description

Henry's Home takes in rescued and surrendered horses, and other farm animals, giving them a forever home and meaningful work in our Horses & Heroes Equine Learning Program. This program offers veterans and first responders the opportunity to join our civilian volunteers caring for our 31 horses, but with the addition of ground training and riding lessons kept only for them, at no cost ever. Horses are the very best therapists and teachers, and we all find healing working with them. Our other program is our Horses & Heroes Ranch Life Mentoring Program that offers veterans and first responders the opportunity to mentor or learn ranch skills working on real-life projects, alongside our civilian volunteers. These include basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, gardening, pond and pasture maintenance, and so much more, skills.

Volunteering with Henry's Home provides the opportunity to work daily or weekly with those who have or are serving in harm's way, at every imaginable horse-care chore, ranch maintenance chore, and with all types of organizations [including corporations, churches, and other nonprofits] that come to volunteer for just the day. If you have skills that can help our nonprofit business, like marketing, website maintenance, data entry, Quickbooks, networking, etc., we could use those as well. Join this family of adult volunteers who love these rescued horses.
