Introduction:

Welcome to Moneyless Society, where we are building momentum for a systemic shift in the equitability of resource management and distribution! While we are not a politically affiliated organization, we are anti-capitalist proponents of the Resource Based Economy (RBE) model. For those not familiar, a RBE can be defined as " a system in which all goods and services are available without the use of money, credits, barter or any other system of debt or servitude ". Given current economic standards, the idea of a RBE may be difficult to fathom. However, much like the process of evolution, complex changes take time. For example, Moneyless Society accepts donations and operates a small product line for monetary exchange because we understand that change of scale requires that we first participate in the system to later emancipate ourselves from it. If you are passionate about systems change, want to unconditionally meet the needs of your fellow human, and want to prevent further environmental catastrophe through degrowth strategies - you are in the right place.

Job Description:

There are two major keys for success in this role. The first is being able to manage communications such that the needs of volunteers within the Moneyless Society ecosystem and those of correspondents outside the organization are translated to the COO concisely and at a consistent frequency. The second is to assume leadership in your own right; to take pride in your efforts here, and to take initiative in maintaining a high standard of work. More minor, though highly important requirements for this position include general adaptability and consistent availability.

Though this role may regularly encounter new and difficult challenges that vary from day to day, the selected candidate will be primarily focused on offering support to the COO - taking on a selection of offloaded responsibilities. Training and support will be offered whenever necessary, and you will be free to occasionally veto tasks outside your comfort zone. As an Administrative Delegate for Moneyless Society, you will be a highly valued, respected and essential asset to our mission and our team.

In this role, you will:

Directly report to our Chief Operating Officer (Amanda) to manage volunteer correspondence, facilitate external outreach efforts and submit various deliverables

Be casually reachable at least 25 hours per week (minimal bandwidth), and able to provide at least 8 hours per week of focused effort for intra-organizational tasks

Be highly adaptable and able to codependently navigate a number of tasks such as:

  • Maintaining legal compliance for tax purposes
  • Accounting and drafting budget projections
  • Documentation management and cleanup
  • Assisting in rebranding and sociocracy implementation
  • Internal/external communications
  • Media relations and Facebook page management
  • Training/onboarding active volunteers as the organization grows

Requirements:

  • 1+ year(s) of experience in an administrative role or similar
  • 1+ year(s) of volunteer experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage professional communications
  • Demonstrated ability in a leadership role
  • Working knowledge of post-scarcity socioeconomics

Assets:
  • Experience using Slack, Signal, Discord, Facebook, Trello, Google Drive
