Great Strides is looking for a volunteer/volunteers who can help with maintenance and handy person work such as repairing saddle racks, putting up hooks for equipment and helping with organizing equipment. We are growing and need someone with good organizational skills to help us make the best use of our space and to update some parts of the facility. Hours will be flexible.

We understand the power of the horse/human relationship and how beneficial it can be to the human body and soul and are devoted to sharing those benefits with children, adults and veterans of ALL abilities.
Description
Great Strides Long Island, Inc. was founded by a group of people who have seen and experienced how horseback riding and other equine-assisted activities can help individuals with special challenges overcome those challenges and develop confidence as well as physical and emotional strength. As riders themselves, they understand the power of the horse/human relationship and how beneficial it can be to the human body and soul. Our equine friends can help us face all of life’s challenges with strength and confidence.
Our members commit their time and energy to provide riding lessons and other equine programs, scholarships, equipment, horses and even physical assistance so that more members of our community can experience a healthy physical and developmentally enriching equine experience, regardless of their challenges.
