In our teaching Program, you will have the chance to assist teachers in schools or teach your own classes if you feel comfortable. You will mainly teach English, French, ICT, entrepreneurship or Mathematics but if you are competent in another subject then you would be very welcome to teach it.
School classes start at 8:00am and finish by 4:00pm. The children and youth will be nursery, primary and secondary students. Volunteers will be placed in either public or private school. Teaching styles and schools will likely be very different so we advise you to be innovative, adaptive and flexible.

Volunteers can participate in our program in a minimum duration of one week and for 3 months maximum. if you want less than a week or more than 3 months we can negotiate.

YOMADO is a youth development Organization in Rwanda that provides services and leadership to meet the emerging needs of young people and their families in our community.

Description

The Youth Mentoring Agents for Development Organization (YOMADO) is a non- government, non-profit organization that works at the grass roots level. It is a volunteer membership organization for young people. It was established in Rwanda in 2012, following the participation of (Young) founding members in a World Vision Rwanda Leadership and Governance program as beneficiaries. YOMADO was legally recognized by the Rwandan Government in December 10 th, 2015; Rwanda Governance Board Legal Personality Number 41/RGB/NGO/2015.

YOMADO shares membership with:

  • REFAC: Rwanda education for all coalition
  • RYOF: Rwanda youth organizations forum

REQUIREMENTS

  • A volunteer shall work 3 or 4 hours depending to her or his wish from Monday to Friday.
  • We provide volunteers and interns with accommodation, meals( breakfast, lunch and dinner), drop off, laundry, first aid but a volunteer does pay 30 $ per day in first 2 weeks, 25$ per day in the following 2 weeks of the month and 20$ per day onward.
