GENERAL FUNCTION:

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, the Director of Mentorship Services serves a vital function for Face Friends Foundation by recruiting and helping to train high quality mentors from the university community, the business community, the faith community, seniors, and the community at-large to assist with the mental and social development of children, youth, and young adults.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops a plan to recruit and train mentors from the business community, senior citizens, faith based organizations, and retired associations. Screens all mentors as soon as possible after they have expressed an interest.

Measure: A recruitment plan is developed and revised as necessary. At least 25-50 mentors

Executes the recruitment plan. Supervises the Mentor Assistants.

Measure: At least 25 Mentor/Mentee Relationships are established and maintained.

Maintains all written materials for mentors including Applications, Time Sheets, Evaluations, and

Activity Calendar.

Conducts orientation for mentors within a reasonable time after their term has commenced. Meets

regularly with mentors.

Measure: At least one orientation is held every six months.

Leads the training of mentors. Helps to inform parents of the mentoring program. Helps to

arrange joint outings and events for mentors and mentees. Hosts fun-filled Mentor Nights and

Parties at Face Friends Foundation and at other locations on a regular basis as a way to recruit and retain mentors.

Measure: At least one mentor/mentee outing is arranged every three months.

Maintains records and a phone list of mentors from the business community, senior citizens,

faith-based organizations and retired associations.
