This is an exciting time to be part of the Sappington House Foundation, as we relocate and rehab a log house into a multi-purpose learning center. We need fundraising in small ways like soliciting gift cards and auction items as well as in large ways like contacting corporate donors as we raise $350,000 in the next two years. This may include grant-writing, depending on your skill set. Your efforts will be lighten knowing that you are working with a committed team for a worthy cause: historical preservation of architecture repurposed for a modern educational and meeting facility.

The mission of Historic Sappington House is to preserve the past by inspiring generations to discover and appreciate their own and the community's heritage.
Description
An unparalleled preservation project is becoming a reality. More than mere bricks and mortar or logs and chinking, architecture is the repository of history. The dismantling of the 1816 Joseph Sappington log home has been accomplished. In 2023, the historic structure will be relocated to Sappington Park where it will offer an interesting contrast to his cousin Thomas’ brick home, listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The Sappington House Foundation with 55 years of historic conservation experience has embarked on this important and costly project. And of course, we need lots of volunteer help!
