Are you the go-to Googler in your friends’ circle for researching things? Were you the one student in the classroom that would ask the question everyone else was afraid to ask? If you can answer 'yes’ to either of these questions, have we got a special project for you!

Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation’s mission is to provide non-medical financial assistance to qualified adult cancer patients in Florida for expenses such as rent or mortgage, car payment and car insurance, and utility bills. By giving some peace of mind financially, this allows cancer patients to focus on what really matters - fighting cancer.

Food insecurities can also exist, and financial assistance specifically for groceries is not part of what we provide. The special project we would like your help with is to research and contact grocery stores (most likely via their corporate office) to ask them to join us in partnership with providing gift cards that can be given to cancer patients facing food insecurities. We will provide the script for both talking with and emailing the stores’ appropriate point of contact or whatever their process is for this type of partnership. Examples of grocery stores to contact would include Publix, Winn Dixie, Walmart, Aldi, plus others.

So get your fingers warmed up for the research and your vocal chords ready for conversation and let’s do this! This special project can be done virtually or from the FCS Foundation office in Lakewood Ranch FL.
