Mission Statement

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Description

Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Our vision is that all residents of Benton, Franklin, and Walla Walla Counties have the opportunity for a decent, affordable place to live. The affordable Home Ownership Program exists to give lower-income working families the life-changing opportunity of home ownership. At Habitat, we empower families to unlock their highest potential through putting down lasting roots. The affordable mortgage of a Habitat house leads to financial freedom, stability and a healthy environment where children can grow, study, and play.

To apply for a home, applicants must have a need for decent, adequate shelter; have ability to pay a no-interest mortgage; and be willing to partner by committing to 500 hours of sweat equity on their home. We build in partnership with people and community partners. Currently we are building in the Washington communities of Tri-Cities and Walla Walla. Volunteers are critical to the work of building Habitat homes!
