Are you handy with a hammer, proficient with a paintbrush, and/or terrific at tinkering? If so, please consider sharing those skills at the Hackerman-Patz House. If this isn't you but you know someone - please pass this along! Our house is reserved for patients and families and we want to keep it in tip-top shape for these special guests.
Guests are able to stay here at a reduced rate while receiving treatment or while their loved one is receiving treatment in one of our UMMS hospitals. Funded by a grant from the Hackerman-Patz Foundation, our house was built in 2015 with 10 guest rooms.
Overall, the house is maintained by the hospital, but having a volunteer coming in a few times a month would be very helpful. The house has become busier over the past year and wear and tear is starting to show. Touch up painting, vent cleaning, helping to move furniture for deep cleaning, and setting up a preventative maintenance schedule are some of the jobs we are hoping to have done.
Please reach out if you or someone you know is handy!
