ORGANIZATION: Partners in Home Care

We are looking for compassionate people, age 18 and older, to assist our hospice team in providing end of life care to patients and their families. Volunteers do many different things including:

  • Provide a listening ear
  • Provide time away for family
  • Do errands
  • Walk the dog
  • Help patients write experiences
  • Assist with end of life review
  • Provide pet companionship
  • Sing or play instruments for patients
  • Play cards
  • Take patients out on special excursions
  • Read to patients
  • Do art with patients
  • Do basic housework
  • Do administrative tasks
  • Participate on the Vigil team
  • Watch TV with patients
  • Take walks with patients

Description

We are a non-profit organization that has been providing hospice care to the Missoula community and western Montana since 1987. We provide comprehensive, active health care by specially trained professionals in pain/symptom management, spiritual support, counseling, personal care, volunteer, and bereavement services. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life's end. We provide education and support allowing the family or caregivers to actively participate in caring for the patient. We also help loved ones and caregivers cope with the loss after death.
