ORGANIZATION: ANOKA COUNTY RSVP

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 6 people are interested

Hope 4 Youth provides pathways to end youth homelessness and invites 1-5 volunteers to sort donations on Saturday mornings from 9-12 where volunteers would:

  • Greeter: Meet and greet donors as they drop off items and support carrying in donations.
  • Sorter: Check donations for quality, sort, and weigh items.
  • Pantry: Date food, organize pantry storage, and stock pantry shelves.
  • Closet: Sort, organize, and hang clothing.
Volunteers are also welcome to donate and serve meals for 10-12 people Monday through Thursday evenings from 4:30-6:00 PM. Meals can be made in a certified kitchen, purchased at a local restaurant or grocery store and brought in, or made at Hope 4 Youth's kitchen site. If making a meal at Hope 4 Youth's kitchen site, volunteers could arrive earlier to make the meal. Usually this works well for groups of 4 people. Hope 4 Youth asks that everyone making/serving meals is 20+ to respect the privacy of youth. Youth do not sign up for dinner so the number of people served varies from 2-15 people, and all leftovers are available for youth to take that night or eaten the next day as lunches for anyone who arrives for drop-in services.

Tuesdays: Volunteers are invited to help stock the pantry with food. Shifts would be from 8:30-10:00 or 9:00-10:30 depending on individual availability.
