Position: Experience/Adventure Coordinator

Organization: The Chrysalis Program

Location: Chicago, Illinois

Time Commitment: Flexible, approximately 2-5 hours per week

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to join our team as an Experience/Adventure Coordinator. This role is designed for someone passionate about planning monthly field trips to create memorable and enriching experiences for our community. The Experience/Adventure Coordinator will play a pivotal role in coordinating logistics, ensuring participant engagement, and fostering collaborations for these exciting monthly adventures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monthly Field Trip Planning:

    • Collaborate with team members to plan and execute unique field trips each month.
    • Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, permits, and transportation.
  2. Program Execution:

    • Oversee the execution of field trips, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for participants.
    • Provide on-site coordination and support during each adventure.
  3. Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other teams and departments to integrate field trips into overall organizational goals.
    • Foster partnerships with external vendors, venues, and organizations for collaborative adventures.
  4. Participant Engagement:

    • Develop strategies to engage and excite participants before, during, and after field trips.
    • Collect feedback and assess the success of each adventure to inform future planning.
  5. Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure all field trips adhere to safety regulations and compliance standards.
    • Develop and implement risk management protocols for adventure-based activities.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for planning unique and memorable monthly field trips.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Previous experience in event planning or adventure coordination is a plus.

The Chrysalis Program seeks to reduce or eliminate the effects of childhood trauma for African American girls and their families on Chicago's South Side and beyond.

The Chrysalis Program creates safe spaces for girls to heal, learn and grow by offering Wellness Workshops, Counseling, Life Skill Classes, Creative Arts Lessons, Parent Classes, Enrichment Field Trips, Mentorship and Community Events.

​The Chrysalis Program is unique because it takes a holistic approach to empowering; teaching both life skills and coping skills that gradually improves the quality of life for participants and their families.
