Position: Social Media Marketing Volunteer
Organization: The Chrysalis Program
Location: Chicago, IL, (This role is remote, but attending events to capture content would be ideal
Time Commitment: Flexible, approximately 2 Hours per Week
Position Overview:
The Chrysalis Program is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Social Media Marketing Volunteers. This dynamic role involves collaboratively curating and managing our social media presence to effectively promote our mission, engage our audience, and create a visually appealing online representation of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Planning and Scheduling:
- Collaborate with the team to plan weekly social media content in alignment with organizational goals.
- Schedule daily posts across various platforms using scheduling tools.
Theme-Based Posting:
- Implement a daily theme strategy to enhance engagement and consistency.
- Create and share content related to each daily theme.
Current Programming Highlights:
- Showcase ongoing programming by sharing posts related to the subjects being taught.
- Utilize event and program photos to enhance content.
Upcoming Events Promotion:
- Create anticipation and excitement by promoting upcoming events and activities.
- Design visually appealing graphics using provided tools.
Community Resources Sharing:
- Share relevant community resources and information that align with our mission.
- Encourage community engagement and collaboration.
Training in Content Creation Tools:
- Participate in training sessions to become proficient in content creation tools, including Canva and other relevant platforms.
- Apply learned skills to enhance the visual appeal of social media posts.
Qualifications:
- Passion for social media marketing and community engagement.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Creativity in designing visually appealing content.
- Excellent communication skills.

The Chrysalis Program seeks to reduce or eliminate the effects of childhood trauma for African American girls and their families on Chicago's South Side and beyond.
The Chrysalis Program creates safe spaces for girls to heal, learn and grow by offering Wellness Workshops, Counseling, Life Skill Classes, Creative Arts Lessons, Parent Classes, Enrichment Field Trips, Mentorship and Community Events.
The Chrysalis Program is unique because it takes a holistic approach to empowering; teaching both life skills and coping skills that gradually improves the quality of life for participants and their families.
