The DG Sentinel will be heavily supported by Dweebs Global, a successful free mentorship nonprofit operating in over 35 countries, with on-the-ground teams in Sierra Leone, Nigeria, India, Colombia, and the United States.

We are looking for experienced, skilled and passionate individuals to join our Technology team with the DG Sentinel.

You will be responsible for all of the technology team members and be expected to motivate and engage the team.

• Supporting in the overseeing of technology related operations and driving maximum performance and dedication
• Growing and connecting with an international team of volunteer web developers and programmers to keep the website running
• Overseeing future app development
• Developing and implementing the technology plan
• Responsible for delivering an awesome user experience.
• Managing all aspects of design and development of DG Sentinel Website.
• Working with the stakeholders to understand the requirements, and work with the team to deliver on the same
• Empowering the teams and onboarding new team members
• Providing leadership and support to the team
• Determining the most appropriate internal communications strategy for the team, and
• Meeting with the wider leadership team and report on progress and activities

• We use Slack as our primary method of internal communications, we ask that all volunteers check this regularly to communicate with their team and stay up to date with the latest developments.
• All teams have a weekly meeting which all individuals need to attend.
• We hold 10 all-in-volunteer meetings a year and ask that volunteers attend a minimum of 4
• As this is an Executive Leadership position you will be expected to attend the weekly C-Suite meeting

• The goal of leadership is to inspire other people to succeed, to ensure they are meeting their tasks and deadlines (i.e., to project manage), to build a positive and collaborative culture/community, and to think about ideas for the strategic vision of the org.
• As a leader, you should understand the basics of the work that everyone on your team does. Leaders often work harder than anyone else on their team. If a ball drops on your team, you end up having to finish the work.
• Good leaders take responsibility and give the credit back to others on their team.
• Good leaders praise publicly and criticize privately.
• Good leaders immediately escalate any issues they don’t know how to deal with to Human Resources or their superiors.
• Good leaders create a collaborative community with others at their same hierarchy level and do not gossip about other people OR other teams.

We are looking for a passionate and reliable individual who has experience in the following:

• Proven working experience in web programming
• Knowledge of graphic design and UI/UX, especially experience in Figma
• Ability to program and develop websites and implement changes (we have a very hands-on C-Suite!)
• Well versed in various web development technologies - Wordpress, Javascript, PHP, integration with plugins for payment, and notifications
• Experienced with understanding of website development requirements for various platforms (desktop, mobile) and browsers
• Creating a positive culture towards volunteer engagement
• Proven experience building and retaining teams among diverse groups in skills
• Leadership experience and the ability to effectively manage a team
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
• High level communications skills in English
• Ability to communicate with people globally
• Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
• Analytical thinking and creative problem solving
• Reliability and efficiency

10 hours per week. We require a year-long commitment for most positions. We can be flexible on time and support vacations and unlimited leave with advance notice. Many of our current team work full-time and volunteer in the evenings. We make sure no one feels overwhelmed or overworked while ensuring extra work doesn’t fall on other volunteers last-minute.
