Ever feel like your social media scrolling could be put to better use? Believe it or not, 30 minutes a week can make a world of difference for someone experiencing isolation and lack of connection. That simple act could create a ripple effect of kindness, connecting us in digital spaces.

Many inmates are missing out on valuable volunteer programs and feeling more disconnected than ever. But you can change that!

Imagine the impact of receiving a letter: a message filled with your thoughts, stories, and encouragement. It takes just a few minutes to write, but for someone feeling isolated, it can be a ray of sunshine, a reminder they're not alone.

Wouldn't it be amazing if we used a fraction of our online time to build bridges and foster connections that truly matter? Every letter, and every story shared, is a step towards building a more inclusive and supportive community, both inside and outside the walls.

We're seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as pen pal volunteers. Through this rewarding opportunity, you'll directly connect with individuals in our program, offering them friendship and support through regular correspondence (1-2 letters per week) for a period of 6-12 months.

Your consistent and caring letters can offer a listening ear, a source of encouragement, or simply a friendly conversation, making a significant difference in someone's life. Studies show that these pen pal relationships can reduce feelings of isolation, increase hope, and provide emotional support - all thanks to your commitment and kindness.

If you're passionate about making a difference and are reliable, compassionate, and positive, we encourage you to learn more about this unique volunteer opportunity.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab a pen, unleash your creativity, and let your words be the bridge that connects hearts and makes a real difference in someone's life. Remember, one letter truly can change a life, and together, we can build a world where everyone feels connected and valued.

Become a pen pal today! One letter truly can change a life.

About LETTERS FOR CHANGE

Location:

PO BOX 1656, BENTONVILLE, AR 72712, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote friendship, understanding, and community through providing an anonymous letter service for inmates in prison.

Description

I recently became acutely aware of the need inmates had to be loved and supported by members of the community. I decided to start writing a few inmates to show my love and support; to show them they are remembered. This became an uplifting experience and I felt blessed to be able to see more into the character of changed individuals. Their lives inspired me.

Our organization acknowledges that people are in different places in their transformation process (whether for inmates or for people living outside prison who are transforming their views). Wherever people are at in their lives, friendship is always a beautiful place to start building understanding and supporting change. Letters for Change hopes to unite communities.
