Recruiting Organization: One Community
Social isolation and loneliness can lead to serious mental and cognitive health consequences. This worldwide problem hits lower-income seniors especially hard. The Sharing Network offers seniors living in Brooklyn, NY, 18 different hour-long conversation and activity groups a week. Participants can join with any phone, even a landline, to keep them socially engaged and mentally strong.
We're looking for monitors with good Zoom tech skills to be the person in the background turning dials and helping to make meetings run smoothly. Tasks include starting and ending meetings, calling participants into groups, managing noise, sharing recorded sound and helping group leaders when issues arise. We also want to know when notable moments occur in meetings that can be posted on social media and when members have concerns that have to be met.
We want you to regularly join one or more groups a week, enjoy listening in on the warm conversations and to feel a part of this great project that improves the lives of lower-income seniors every day.
