Hello Everyone!
My name is Jessica, I help run our volunteer program here at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center.
If you enjoy live theater, musicals, comedy shows, and concerts! Then this is a great place for you to volunteer! We always try to make sure that you always have a seat for the performances. There is a small catch you must be 18 years or olderto volunteer here at the Cultural Arts Center, just because there will be some handling of alcohol. If you would like to volunteer and you are of age but you do not like to handle alcohol due to religious reasons or other then that’s okay too, we have other members that can step in and do that job when the time comes. We always like to clarify that ahead of time.
General duties include:
- Greeting guests and direct them where to go
- Verifying tickets on a Scanner/tablet system
- Handling Concession/Bar Area
- Walk through after the shows.
We will go into more depth later if you are interested in joining our volunteer program.
We typically ask our volunteers if they can volunteer at least 2 times a month if they are able. We are always flexible.
The way our volunteers sign up for a show is through an online system called signup genius. It is a very easy program that makes signing up for any event so convenient. You get to go through the Events online and select dates that work well with your own schedule. Once you have signed up for at least 10 shows you will receive your own bronze name badge that we get designed for you. We just had our annual volunteer appreciation party the volunteers loved it so much that we have decided to have at least 2 a year, just so you know how grateful we are to have you here. Not to mention you get invited to the city’s big volunteer dinner they throw for all of the city volunteers.
Our volunteers are a big part of what makes the Cultural Arts Center such a fun place to be. So if you are still interested in joining our team, let’s schedule a date so I can give you a tour of our facility and you can fill out our volunteer paperwork. Typically, it takes about 15 minutes sometimes even less if you are already familiar with our facility. Once this step is completed, I will email you our link to view signups online and you will be able to get started on your first show you will be training but don’t worry we make it easy you will want me to leave you alone!
Our team is pretty amazing, and they know how to make it fun and welcoming. If you ever need assistance there is always a staff member available to help or even the volunteers can help. We always get such great reviews on our volunteers!
Our facility is open from Tuesday- Saturday from 10 am- 4 pm (some dates and times vary)
Please make sure to schedule an appointment with me first before showing up because the dates and times will vary now that shows are starting back up and as maintenance is being done throughout the building.
