About Metanoia Project

Metanoia Project works to serve Cleveland’s most vulnerable unhoused individuals through building relationships and providing overnight hospitality. Our hospitality centers provide overnight respite, a hot meal, medical and substance use services, housing assistance, clothing and hygiene products, and more. As we enter our 16th cold weather season, we are looking to expand our services and add to our team.

Intern Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and schedule our nightly meal volunteers through management of a meals calendar
  • Update our "Meal Service Guidebook" provided to all volunteers
  • Create social media graphics for volunteer recruitment
  • Manage and recruit outside volunteers as we begin to welcome volunteers back into our hospitality centers

Qualifications

  • Passionate about non-profit work and assisting those experiencing homelessness
  • Organized in managing multiple tasks and scheduling many individuals and groups
  • Communication skills for recruiting potential volunteers
  • Previous trauma- informed care training or a willingness for training
  • Motivated worker with remote possibilities

The Metanoia Project is comprised of people who form authentic relationships with men and women who are un-sheltered by responding personally and creatively to gaps in the social service structure.

Description

The Metanoia Project provides seasonal overnight hospitality to Cleveland's shelter-resistant and un-sheltered homeless population. During the months of November-April Metanoia staff opens our hospitality center each night to our overnight guests. There the staff forms relationships with the guests while providing support, access to outside services, meals, hygiene products, clothing, and a safe place to sleep each night.

  • Primarily remote position with hybrid opportunities - our off season is April 15th-November 15th. During this season the main focus would be to engage current volunteers while outreaching new community members and building our volunteer database.
  • Someone passionate about Non-Profit work with the unsheltered population.
