The finance committee provides financial oversight of the organization. The committee's responsibilities include co-developing, approving and monitoring the annual operating budget with staff, monitoring and reporting on the financial status and activities of the agency, creating and monitoring of internal controls, accountability policies, and practices.

Set long-range financial goals along with funding strategies to achieve them. Develop multi-year operating budgets that integrate strategic plan objectives and initiatives, oversee investments, and present all financial goals and proposals to the board of directors for approval via the Board Treasurer.

Virtual Meetings
The Finance Committee meets every other month and as needed. Every virtual meeting will last approximately 1 hour.

Finance Committee members can expect to contribute on average 6-10 hours annually. Each committee member is invited to serve a one-year term, which may be renewable in December of each year for up to three years.

Members are expected to actively participate in a minimum of 75% of committee meetings, and to provide balanced, professional, and constructive advice and input always keeping the good of the Society, not individual members or institutions/companies, as the focus.
