Are you looking to give time and support your community more directly? Do you have a smile that can light up a room? Do you enjoy interacting with families and children?
If so, we are looking to rebuild a solid team of Front Desk volunteers who assist more directly with families and staff during the work week. We are looking for friendly volunteers to help with greeting families and clients, collecting paperwork, distributing those to the staff for our evaluations, reading or playing games with children, and checking in on the families to make sure they are comfortable during their time at KIDS Center. Front Desk volunteers may also assist with administrative support projects for the Front Desk, Family Advocate team, and our Development & Fundraising team. The work and time our Front Desk volunteers are able to give is truly a blessing to us and how we can best attend to the needs of our families and clients while they are here.

We lead our region's response to child abuse.
Description
KIDS Center aims to improve services and outcomes for children and families impacted by abuse. KIDS Center is a nationally-accredited Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) and the only CAC operating in Central Oregon. We provide comprehensive child abuse evaluations that include a head-to-toe medical exam, child-friendly forensic interview, family advocacy, and mental health services to children and families. All of our services are free to every family who needs them.
Children are referred for a KIDS Center evaluation by one of four community partners including law enforcement, DHS Child Welfare, medical providers, and licensed mental health professionals. KIDS Center provides child abuse evaluations for children ages birth to 18, and older where cognitive delays are present. We primarily serve children from Deschutes, Crook, Jefferson, Harney, Sherman, and Wheeler counties. Children and families can engage in KIDS Center advocacy and mental health services without participating in an evaluation.
KIDS Center provides trainings to multi-disciplinary partners in six Central Oregon counties. We also provide free prevention programs to help teach adults in our community how to better protect children from abuse. Since our founding, KIDS Center has trained more than 15,000 adults.
