Each year at Cork & Barrel we pull together with our community and with the help of over 150 volunteers, filling nearly 400 volunteer times/slots, we make MAGIC happen! We hope you will join our team of "Magic-Makers!"
Because this is a wine event, we do require all volunteers during the event to be at least 21 years of age. However, we do have opportunities before and after the event for volunteers younger than 21. Also, due to the nature of our work, we collect driver’s license numbers and birth dates in order to run background checks on all of our volunteers prior to Cork & Barrel.

We lead our region's response to child abuse.
Description
KIDS Center aims to improve services and outcomes for children and families impacted by abuse. KIDS Center is a nationally-accredited Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) and the only CAC operating in Central Oregon. We provide comprehensive child abuse evaluations that include a head-to-toe medical exam, child-friendly forensic interview, family advocacy, and mental health services to children and families. All of our services are free to every family who needs them.
Children are referred for a KIDS Center evaluation by one of four community partners including law enforcement, DHS Child Welfare, medical providers, and licensed mental health professionals. KIDS Center provides child abuse evaluations for children ages birth to 18, and older where cognitive delays are present. We primarily serve children from Deschutes, Crook, Jefferson, Harney, Sherman, and Wheeler counties. Children and families can engage in KIDS Center advocacy and mental health services without participating in an evaluation.
KIDS Center provides trainings to multi-disciplinary partners in six Central Oregon counties. We also provide free prevention programs to help teach adults in our community how to better protect children from abuse. Since our founding, KIDS Center has trained more than 15,000 adults.
