Are you caring and compassionate? Have a passion for helping others? Want to be an integral part of our day-to-day operation? We would love to have you as part of our Klarus Team!

You will be provided with the preparation and training needed for you to be comfortable and successful with your chosen assignment. After orientation and training, you’ll be ready to start meaningful work as a hospice volunteer. Flexible hours and you create your own schedule. An hour can make a significant difference!

Did you know you can either volunteer in office, remotely or directly with a patient? Being part of a patient’s care team - you can make home/facility visits to offer companionship for patients and relief for caregivers.

This may include:

  • Writing encouragement cards/letters
  • Reading to a patient, listening to music, or holding a hand
  • Staying with a patient while family member(s) take a needed break or go to an appointment
  • Shopping or doing errands
  • Listening
  • Light household chores
  • Clerical and other office duties

VOLUNTEERS ARE NOT PAID EMPLOYEES AND DO NOT RECEIVE FINANCIAL COMPENSATION FOR THEIR TIME

Description

Our focus relies on the belief that each of us has the right to die pain-free and with dignity, and that our loved ones will receive the necessary support to allow us to do so. The team-oriented approach of Hospice and Palliative Care includes expert medical care, pain management, emotional and spiritual support expressly tailored to the person’s needs and wishes. Support is provided to the person’s loved ones as well up 13 months after their passing.
