Time Commitment: 5-8 hours/week


Asian Girls Ignite (AGI) is a nonprofit organization serving Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) middle and high school girls and gender-expansive youth in Colorado. We offer middle school, high school, summer, and outdoor programs that elevate their voices, explore their identities, and care for their wellbeing

Our mission is to build a strong community of AAPI girls and womxn by celebrating their individual and collective power through shared stories. We envision a world where every AAPI girl and womxn defines their own power and story.

We are seeking a volunteer Social Media Coordinator to support AGI’s social media efforts. The volunteer will be responsible for executing our organization's social media strategy and content creation to grow our audience and engage with our community.

The ideal candidate will have experience in social media management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for supporting and empowering AAPI girls and gender-expansive youth.


Responsibilities:

  • Implement a social media strategy that aligns with our AGI’s mission and goals.
  • Create and curate engaging social media content that inspires and informs our audience, including designing and creating social media graphics and videos.
  • Schedule and publish social media posts across our organization's social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and LinkedIn).
  • Monitor and respond to comments and direct messages on our social media platforms in a timely and professional manner.
  • Track and analyze social media performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of our social media strategy and content and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including the Marketing and Communications team, to ensure that our social media efforts align with our overall marketing and communication strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends and best practices and recommend new ideas to enhance our social media presence.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in social media coordination and/or content creation, preferably in a non-profit or educational setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and LinkedIn) and social media management tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Passion for supporting and empowering AAPI girls and gender-expansive youth.


Time Commitment:

The time commitment for this volunteer position is flexible and can be discussed with the COO. We ask for a commitment of at least 5 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months.
