PLEASE READ!
Scholars is Wesley-Rankin’s newest initiative, in partnership with the June Shelton School, to provide reading, spelling, and handwriting intervention for students with learning differences. Shelton is the largest independent school worldwide for intelligent students with learning differences.
How does the program work? The WR Scholars Program offers tutoring using Shelton’s SEE (Sequential English Education) curriculum and a multisensory structured language (MSL) approach.
Auditory and memory exercises are also included.
The Summer Scholars program will meet Monday-Thursday 8:00 - 10:00 AM at St. Mary of Carmel.
We need tutors. Wesley-Rankin has high hopes to grow this program. Yet, we can only take additional students when we have additional tutors. Potential volunteers are asked to commit to one day a week to have consistency for students. For volunteers willing to commit to at least three days per week, they qualify for paid tutor positions. All training materials are provided.
Training sessions are available at Wesley-Rankin.
If interested in more information about this opportunity, please call or email Ashley Garduno, Volunteer and advancement Coordinator, at ashley@wesleyrankin.org or 214.742.6674 x 113.
