Be a part of our annual First Responder and Firefighter Cookie Drop. In conjunction with our Fight For Air Climb Detroit, on behalf of the American Lung Association, volunteers will be delivering cookies across Southeast Michigan to local first responders and firefighters as a gesture of our appreciation for their community service and support! Nearly 200 boxes will be delivered to more than 50 communities this Spring.

The mission of the American Lung Association hits close to home with firefighters and first responders because of their increased susceptibility to lung disease, including lung cancer due to the exposure of gases, chemicals, and smoke in the line of duty. We welcome our community to join us in this annual campaign.

There are a number of volunteer opportunities - both in-person and virtual - available to support the Cookie Drop. Our volunteer opportunities are also suite for individuals and groups, including local students who are looking to complete their service hours. Mission Statement

The mission of the American Lung Association is to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

Description

For more than 115 years, Americans have trusted us to protect their lungs, whether it's researching treatments and cures for lung diseases, keeping kids off tobacco, including e-cigarettes, or advocating for laws that protect the air we all breathe.

Our goals are big-defeat lung cancer, create a tobacco-free future, champion clean air for all, and improve the quality of life for those living with lung disease.

Because when you can't breathe, nothing else matters.
