Our internship program offers students a unique opportunity to experience the work of a City Council office firsthand. The program exposes students to the video production side of legislative office operations and daily activities of a Councilmember's work. These experiences include highlighting and raising awareness of significant local issues/events, producing engaging video content for social media platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, identifying trends and strategizing new ways to increase social media growth, and actively building our social media community.
Our office is at the forefront of Palo Alto and Bay Area affairs, and we are dedicated to acting as a voice of the people by creating video content that best highlights these subjects. Thus, it is necessary to create engaging and informative videos for the public. We welcome you to join our office as a producer, video editor, and content creator. An internship at the Office of Councilmember Greg Tanaka is an exciting opportunity that is both challenging and rewarding.
Internships are available to all part-time or full-time students. Interns will gain valuable education and work experience through working with our office. All internship work is voluntary and students will not receive any monetary compensation. Depending on their programs, students may also receive different types of school credit for participating.
Qualified candidates will be invited for interviews. Thank you for your interest in this unique opportunity to serve the community. Please complete the application form and submit it to our office along with a resume (cover letter and writing sample are appreciated but not required).
I encourage you to apply.
