Hospice Plus partners with students on the path to becoming doctors whether they be a university undergraduate, studying for the MCAT or in medical school. The goal is to expand wisdom about dying and death. This includes how to make companionship visits and phone calls with patients and/or their loved ones, learning about bereavement, attending hospice care plan meetings and honoring a self-care practice. The volunteer has the opportunity to learn from a highly experienced hospice staff.
We have no set schedules or shifts. Our volunteers are able to volunteer for whatever works for their schedule. We can even have volunteers on weekends!
