The PAL Volunteers will work with the staff to check-in with our guests and make the experience more comfortable. Some tasks include: delivering newspapers/books to interested patients, talking with patients who could use a visitor, delivering warm blankets, handing out beverages to visitors, and more. Some tasks are subject to change depending on what unit you are placed on to meet the needs of that specific unit. We are looking for volunteers to help on units such as Neuro, Older Adult, Ortho, Psych, and Med-surg. Volunteers should not expect to assist in ADLs such as toileting or ambulating or be responsible if there were to be an emergency. This is a great opportunity if you are looking to get clinical experience or give back to our healthcare hero's. If you are interested, please apply on our website at www.mercyhealth.com/donate/volunteer
