Mission Statement
To bring to the community an annual high-quality art festival which explores and celebrates professional creative expression while enhancing the artistic identity of Central Oregon. To give back to the community by supporting the positive economic impact of the visual arts and financial support for the visual arts through community organizations.
Description
The purpose of Art in the High Desert (a non-profit corporation) is to develop and manage an annual fine art & craft festival in Bend/Redmond, Oregon. The festival will promote and support the visual arts and art education in Central Oregon, through interactive presentations and financial contributions to selected community organizations.
The juried visual art festival and sale will be produced by artists and art advocates for the Central Oregon area, emphasizing original fine arts and crafts created by individual artists, from throughout the country, for art buyers and collectors.
It is our belief that a successful art festival must contain 3 overlapping and equally important groups: the artists, the buyers, and the community.
Central Oregon will benefit from a festival that will showcase high-quality visual arts, contribute to the positive economic impact for the area, enhance the sense of place for the region, and provide support to designated community organizations.
We strive to provide a high-quality, juried fine art and craft festival & sale; to build partnerships with the local community to enhance the economy and the arts, as well as build a sense of place for buyers; and to increase the number of knowledgeable art patrons in Central Oregon through outreach and education.
