We are Kind Footprint, a U.S.-based nonprofit with a grassroots project in Colombia called Empower The Barrios. With this project we are seeking to reach vulnerable populations and families with limited resources in neighborhoods of strata 1 and 2 (lower-ranking on the socioeconomic scale) in Medellín and its metropolitan area. With 100% transparency and 97.6% effectiveness, we are working to improve people’s quality of life through medical aid, English and coding classes, and food packages that enable people to get access to much needed legal, economic and medical services.

We are dependent on people’s donations to keep this important work going, which means we need to tell our story and the stories of the people we help in a compelling way. That is why we are looking for a videography volunteer who can help us do this.

Main activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Attending events that are a part of our projects to shoot video content
  • Editing the video content for our social media, our website or other marketing materials
If you are social media oriented and can plan, research and prepare interesting content, or if you feel comfortable talking to the camera that would be a plus. We are looking for proactive, creative and detail-oriented people. But above all, we are looking for people who are passionate about our mission and who want to help us improve people’s quality of life.

Volunteering with us will give you the opportunity to meet like-minded people and contribute to an important cause. If you want to experience our work first-hand while improving your videography and video editing skills, don’t hesitate and get in touch!

Description

Kind Footprint is a U.S.-based nonprofit with a grassroots project in Colombia called Empower The Barrios. With this project we are seeking to reach vulnerable populations and families with limited resources in neighbourhoods of strata 1 and 2 (lower-ranking on the socioeconomic scale) in Medellín and its metropolitan area. With 100% transparency and 97.6% effectiveness, we are working to improve people’s quality of life through the following projects:

We have a project called Feed The Barrios through which we organize humanitarian service fairs in collaboration with legal, economic, and medical service providers. At these service fairs we also distribute food packages that allow people to attend, as most people cannot afford to take a day off work. So far we have distributed 318.503 meals.

Another of our projects is Educate The Barrios, through which we provide children with English classes that will increase their chances of finding a job. Speaking English doubles the minimum wage in Colombia. We also provide coding classes through our Recode The Future project.

Through our Medical Brigades we provide medical aid in collaboration with our partner Emergencias Apolo. The health care system in Colombia is inaccessible to many people due to long waiting times, far distances and bureaucratic hurdles. During our first two brigades we have already provided 101 general medicine appointments, distributed 82 medicines, provided 110 lab tests, 8 ECGs, and 18 psychological consults.
