We are a Therapeutic Riding Program looking to add volunteers to our Program. We offer flexible volunteer shifts with the opportunity to learn how to interact with horses, help out with therapeutic lessons, or just clean some stalls and groom some horses. We will adjust your wants and needs to our program and find a place for you! We are also looking to add volunteer grant writers, fundraising help & general administration volunteers if applicable.

3 Shifts

  • morning / 08:00 AM to 11:45 AM
    Volunteers wanted to help with lessons at a therapeutic riding program
  • afternoon / 12:00 PM to 04:00 PM
    Volunteers wanted to help with lessons and around the barn at a therapeutic riding program.
  • evening / 05:00 PM to 07:00 PM
    Volunteers wanted to help with Night Time feed, Lesson Help & Barn chores

Description

Yellow Horse provides therapeutic riding on horseback to children and adults with disabilities and special needs. We work with our riders both mounted (on the horse) and unmounted (off the horse). With 14 horses under our care there is a lot to do on the farm. Our horses are trained to work with a variety of riders. Volunteers lead, sidewalk, groom, and care for our horses on a variety of levels. Yellow Horse strives to include everyone in our community within our program and encourages volunteers to reach out.

  • We require signing up for 12 weeks (1 shift per week). Shifts usually run about 3 hours per week but we can be flexible.
