We at Cherishaven Hospice provides a very valuable service to our community: Care for the elderly at the end of their lives and the terminally ill. We would like to give the community and upcoming nursing professionals the opportunity to work closely with these patients.
Our program's mission is to educate and create individuals passionate about caregiving and hospice care.
By volunteering for Cherishaven Hospice, students and other volunteers will be able to gain first-hand experience by work closely within the hospice and homecare industry while also providing an important public service.
The activities that the volunteer can partake in are:
- Provide in-person companionship to patient
- Engaging in art, music, and games with the patient
- Transportation assistance for physician visits, shopping, and other errands
- Assistance in hospice administrative office duties

Description
- We are CHAP certified
- Hospice care provides the medical attention, emotional support, and spiritual care that people who are reaching the end of life require to make their final months as comfortable and meaningful as possible. Additionally, it gives caregivers peace of mind regarding what to do and what to anticipate during and after a loved one's illness.
- Our goal is to provide the community and upcoming nursing professionals an opportunity to work closely with patients suffering from terminal illness or nearing the end of their natural lives. To educate assist in creating strong and capable hospice nurses and caregivers.
