We are looking for compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Patient Care Volunteers for hospice. This role provides invaluable non-medical support to patients living with a terminal illness, as well as their caregivers and families. Volunteers have the unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference through simple yet impactful acts of kindness and connection.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Offering companionship and a listening ear.
- Engaging in social activities such as reading, playing games, or writing letters.
- Providing caregiver relief so family members can rest or run errands.
- Assisting with light household tasks, such as watering plants, walking pets, washing dishes, or emptying trash.
What to Expect:
- Volunteers create their own schedules, with visits typically lasting up to 2 hours.
- No medical background is needed-our volunteers do not perform any medical or personal care tasks (e.g., giving baths, assisting with medication, or transferring patients).

Volunteering includes making scrap books, blankets, cards, treats, reading, writing, visiting, and much much more.
New hospice volunteers participate in free training that provides information regarding the hospice philosophy of care.
