Started in 1990, Collegiate Challenge is one of Habitat for Humanity International’s longest-running student youth volunteer programs. It is unique in offering year-round volunteer opportunities for teams of young adults to build for a week at various Habitat locations across the United States. Groups can choose to volunteer close to school or on the other side of the country. No prior experience is needed to volunteer. All that’s needed is a group of five or more students ages 18 or older (chaperones over the age of 25 also welcome).

Projects may include construction like building or repairing a home, assisting in a Habitat ReStore, landscaping projects or another type of assignment that helps meet Habitat’s goals to support the community. Some locations may plan an evening activity for your group, such as dinner with a Habitat partner family, but generally, your evenings will be free.

About Habitat for Humanity International: Collegiate Challenge

Location:

Mission Statement

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. We partner with people in your community and all over the world to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With your support, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families. Through our work, we strive to achieve our vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
