Leaven Kids

Leaven Kids is a non-profit that provides mentoring and tutoring to about 500 K-5th-graders each week in 21 sites located within low-income neighborhoods. The Leaven Kids Golf Classic directly benefits the program providing this vital service. Volunteers provide a variety of services and virtually anyone can help. We have tasks to suit every ability. Of course, if you are fit and mobile we can use your help with set up and clean up! There are several shifts throughout the day, from first thing in the morning to late afternoon. Beverages and lunch will be available for volunteers too! Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

    Setup crew and check-in crew to help Leaven Kids staff with golfer and vendor check-in.
  • Mon Apr 29, 2024 - 11:00 AM to 02:15 PM
    Crew to work the event. Help with beverages, auction item setup, and working the different sites around the course.

Leaven Kids is a hub of hope and help, a targeted transformational tool to marginalized communities through afterschool programming, that is motivated to mentor by planting learning centers inside apartment buildings in low-income and crime-ridden neighborhoods--where no one else is willing to go. Staffed with committed staff and volunteers, children are provided with practical support that leads to seeing kids and communities rise above the challenges of broken cycles.

  • There are several shifts available, from ~2 hours to a little over 3 hours in duration, depending on the shift(s) selected.
  • No special skills are required. Some attention to detail is needed if you are assigned to one of the course games or contests. The ability to lift and carry for setup or cleanup shifts is recommended, but not required for some tasks.
