Role Type: 10-15 hours per month including at least one 3-hour monthly gallery shift

Salary: Currently on a volunteer basis

Reporting to: President/Executive Director

The Boutique Director is responsible for the smooth running the arts boutique, Grove Art Originals. This position is responsible for locating artists, selecting artwork, cleaning, monitoring and the general administration of the boutique. This position reports to the President/Executive Director, who reports to the Board of Directors at MGAC.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Finding, meeting, and selecting work from local artists for display in the boutique area.
• Displaying the artwork with artistic flair.
• Responsible for ensuring all the paperwork is kept current.
• Checking that artwork is priced and labelled correctly.
• Ensuring that all participants volunteer at least one 3-hour shift per month.
• Ensuring that all participants have a current advocacy.
• Competent on taking payments and able to train others if needed.
• Keeping the area clean and tidy
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

• Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer and associated software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
• Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations.
• Ability to detect and correct grammatical and spelling errors in written correspondence.
• Ability to maintain files accurately, in paper and in software programs.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
