Project Overview
Join Friends of Sausal Creek for a morning of restoration along Sausal Creek! FOSC is working to protect restoration sites throughout the watershed.
Volunteers will be removing invasive plants in Dimond Canyon. Help protect native plants and keep invasives at bay!
About Friends of Sausal Creek
Friends of Sausal Creek is a volunteer-based, nonprofit, community organization dedicated to promoting awareness, appreciation, and stewardship of Oakland's Sausal Creek Watershed, which drains to the San Francisco Bay. Their mission is to restore, maintain, and protect the Sausal Creek Watershed.
Project Requirements & Important Notes
Volunteers must wear closed-toed-shoes and clothing that protects them from the sun and weather
Volunteers should bring a reusable water bottle
Please do your part in keeping our community healthy. If you are immuno-compromised, at increased risk for severe illness, or feeling sick at all, please decline your registration to the event and register for a project at a less risky time. For additional resources and guidance on how to keep yourself healthy, visit the CDC website.

This year, HandsOn Bay Area is partnering with California Climate Action Corps, a program of California Volunteers, Office of the Governor to expand our climate action and environmental volunteer project offerings! This partnerships helps supports events like the Friends of Sausal Creek project.
