Finding Independence by CPSH helps people with disabilities in North TX!
YOU can also make a difference as our volunteer social media content creator by using your skills and talents to help us reach our fundraising goal with the North Texas Giving Day campaign running from now through September 2023.
Finding Independence by CPSH is a 501c(3) founded in 2010 by families seeking housing options for their loved ones with disabilities. A volunteer-led charity who advocates, educates, and collaborates to transform the lives of adults with disabilities by creating access to community-based, safe, affordable housing options and support services.
In 2009 Communities Foundations of Texas (CFT) created North Texas Giving Day as one of the first, now the largest, community-wide giving events in the world! CFT's North Texas Giving Day is an 18-hour online giving event designed to empower every person to give back to their community by supporting local non-profits and causes they care about in one easy to use platform.
This is our ONLY ANNUAL fundraising event!

Description
Community for Permanent Supported Housing (CPSH) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2011. Finding Independence by CPSH is our services division with experts who guide people with disabilities and their families/caregivers on a path towards independence with support services. Focused on serving adults with disabilities who need assistance with affordable housing options, steps to independence training, self-advocacy, resources, safety training, and much more. There are over 250,000 people living with cognitive disabilities that makes living independently a challenge in North Texas. We serve people with disabilities and their caregivers, educators, service providers, and more across Texas.
Today’s housing crisis, made worse by COVID-19, highlights the lack of affordable housing for working class families. People with disabilities are being overlooked. Community resources to help a family prepare their adult child to thrive on their own are difficult to identify. Determining how they can survive on disability income (usually maxed at $914 per month) is challenging.
We provide workshops, trainings, consultations and resources on affordable housing, steps to independence and accessing resources for people with disabilities.
We couldn't do what we do without the amazing talents of volunteers.
