Open Door's Community Health and Wellness Garden is looking for volunteers! We have regular volunteer times at 2200 Tydd Street in Eureka (across from the Eureka Community Health Center) every Thursday 10am-12pm. You are also welcome to contact us to schedule another time to meet for a Volunteer Orientation, then after the orientation volunteers are welcome to come back on your own time to help out. We accept volunteers of all ages, abilities, and gardening experience. If you are interested in being a volunteer or you have questions, please contact us, we are happy to help!

Besides the measured benefit of producing pounds and pounds of fresh food to give to the community, the community gardens located in Fortuna, Eureka, and Willow Creek provide us with so much more that cannot necessarily be quantified. Gardening relieves stress and anxiety, promotes physical activity, gets neighbors together beautifying their neighborhoods, and empowers all who take part in growing their own healthy food. Gardens help their communities and gardens need their community’s help. The Open Door Community Health and Wellness Gardens function because of community support and involvement; join the fun by volunteering and enjoy all the benefits the Open Door Health and Wellness Gardens provide!
