Do you want to support survivors of sexual violence in your community? Join the Center for Empowerment by volunteering for our Confidential Sexual Violence Advocate Program!
Confidential Sexual Violence Advocates (CSVAs) are trained to answer the 24-hour hotline and accompany survivors to forensic examinations, police stations, and court. CSVAs provide compassionate, non-judgmental emotional support, as well as information and referrals to survivors and their loved ones.
We provide a free 40+ hour training to become a Confidential Sexual Violence Advocate. Our next CSVA Training is scheduled for March 2025 on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings/afternoons in Piscataway, NJ!
No experience is necessary, and bilingual individuals are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be 18 or older, live in or near Middlesex County, have their own reliable transportation and cell phone, and consent to a background check.
If you are interested in volunteering, please email our Advocate Coordinator at advocate@co.middlesex.nj.us for the link to our application. For more information, call us at 732-321-1189 ext. 1 or email the Advocate Coordinator.
