The SoundBio Lab Education team delivers creative, hands-on STEM education that challenges restrictive ideas of who can be a scientist and what science can be. We support students who face marginalization to see themselves as scientists and consider STEM careers. We also provide learners of all-ages with skills and inspiration to explore their scientific interests.
We are looking for multiple new volunteer program coordinators and instructors to help us deliver some ambitious plans that will see us expand our impact considerably, supporting more people to learn and grow with science. Apply via the form below

SoundBio Lab is a community of amateur and professional science enthusiasts dedicated to promoting science education, providing access to biotechnology, and fostering self-learning in order to promote science understanding and inspire the next generation of scientists.
Description
SoundBio is a small DIY biology focused, volunteer run organization in Seattle. We provide workshops and resources to help spread the DIY biology movement and inspire scientific curiousity. SoundBio sits on three mission-critical legs: building community within DIY biology, enhancing and promoting public science, and facilitating public access to biotechnology equipment and space.
Each person and their ideas at SoundBio is treated with respect to foster inclusiveness and enthusiasm for science.

- Must be at least 16
- Different positions available with different time commitments. Minimum 40 hours per year, maximum 130 hours per year. Not evenly distributed across weeks/months.
- Some prior experience with laboratory biology methods or STEM education would be very helpful.
