Volunteers are needed to greet and register guests, let them know what they can do at The Rancho, and make Museum Shop sales. Volunteers are needed during the hours we are open to the public on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Afternoon shifts are from 12:45 to 5 pm and there is a morning shift on Saturdays from 9:45 to 1 pm. If you are interested in joining the Rancho Family of Volunteers, and meeting people from all over the world who come to see the historic site while learning about the California history, this is perfect for you. There is also the opportunity to become better acquainted with the history of the site and lead tours for the public if desired. About Rancho Los Cerritos

Location:

4600 Virginia Road, Long Beach, CA 90807, US

Mission Statement

The mission of Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site is to restore and preserve the structure and grounds; collect appropriate resources; and interpret the relationship of the Rancho's diverse peoples to the development of the Long Beach area. This will be accomplished through a broad spectrum of educational programs, exhibits and publications designed to provide local residents, students, and other visitors with an understanding of the forces that shaped this region.

The current 4.7 acre site, a National, State and local Historic Landmark, includes an 1844 two story Monterey-Colonial adobe and historic gardens, houses a California History Research Library and hosts many educational programs fro families and youth. The Rancho is open Wednesday through Sunday 1 -5 pm.
