Community Outreach Event Volunteer
The CommunityOutreach Event Volunteer will assist staff in set up, during and/or breakdown of events. The volunteer will represent TXHH at community events.
Essential Job Functions:
- Greet the public .
- Answer basic questions about TXHH.
- Pass handouts and flyers out to the public.
- Other general duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Enjoy talking to the public in person.
- Customer service experience is helpful.
- Commitment to and enthusiasm for the mission of TXHH.
- Confidence working independently and with a team.
- Positive attitude.
- Strong interpersonal and relational skills.
- Adaptable and able to think proactively and reactively.
Job Type: Volunteer
Training: Must work at least 2 shifts with a staff member or current volunteer in this role to learn about TXHH.
Schedule: Varies as needed
Commitment: Ideally work 2 shifts a month or as needed to stay current on TXHH policies
Supervisor: Volunteer and Events Manager
Start Date: Upon finishing 2 training shifts
End Date: TBD
The mission of TXHH is to save the lives of adoptable dogs and cats from shelters throughout Texas that are often forced to euthanize for space, decrease overpopulation of animals through low-cost veterinary services, and enhance the lives of pets through educational resources for our community.
