Description
Lack of nutrition support for the low-income families in the Washington, DC metro area. Food insecurity, lack of health literacy regarding childhood eating milestones and an overwhelming impact based on the social determinants of health, are factors addressed by the community work from the DMV Early Childhood Nutrition Taskforce and funding supports this work to continue food delivery, parenting focus/education groups, federal child and adult care food program administration and the like activities.
WHAT HAS BEEN DONE: Since the inception of the DMV Early Childhood Nutrition Taskforce, ~100 meals (25 families) have received food donations in the childcare setting.
